The purpose of the "Adoption is the New Pregnant" T-Shirt is to promote adoption. Some people would say it is meant to spread the word that adoption does not make a woman any less of a mother. However, others think that this T-shirt turns adoption into a fad. It is downright offensive to some women and/or couples.
A site survey states as of June 24, 2008 about 58.8% of visitors voted that they would not wear this T-shirt. 41.25% say they would. A fairly close race for the campaign of this comfortable shirt.The poll results are even closer for those who say it would be offensive or not offensive. About 38.6% have found it offensive, and about 35.9% have found it empowering. Another quarter of people have no opinion either way.
The results of these T-shirt polls probably remind many people of current election and/or primary results. Ultimatly the goal of this shirt is to make adoption more acceptable.
